AWARDS Melendi is past president of the Florida Professional Photographers Association and the Photographers Guild. Several of his images are on permanent exhibit at PPA’s Loan Collection, and the International Photography Hall of Fame, housed in the Kirkpatrick Center in Oklahoma City. Among previous honors are the National and Southeastern Awards, Photographer of the Year, the Key to Dade County and thirty-five "First Place Awards" in photographic competition. Melendi is PPA Certified and holds the following degrees: Master of Photography, Photographic Craftsman, and the Florida Degree of Photographic Excellence. Melendi became Publishing Editor of the "Florida Photographer" magazine in 1977, which has ranked in the top three among all the PPA’s affiliate publications in the United States and Canada. This includes nine first places, three of them consecutive. These awards make Melendi the most honored editor in the country. |
